Lechia Gdansk have big ambitions, but they had a poor start to this season. Club's officials decide to make a coach change around 1,5 month ago and apparently it was a good decision as Lechia got two back-to-back victories right before the international break, against in-form sides such as Zaglebie Lubin or Jagiellonia Bialystok. Now they want to continue good run and beat Gornik Zabrze in a home fixture.

“Our aim is to continue winning. We are getting good results recently, but two wins are not enough. We want to win every game and I assure that we are capable of getting many wins in a row. It's not about getting into top 8 or about finishing in the championship group at the end of regular season. We want to be on top of the standings and we're working hard to achieve this aim.
I know we have enough qualities for that,” said Polish international full-back Jakub Wawrzyniak. Other players also shared their thoughts.
“For sure it won't be easy on Friday. It's not really possible to choose a favourite in Ekstraklasa games. It's an important match and we want to get the 3 points. We're playing better and better and the current style suits me better. There is a big rivarly for a place in the starting team. This club has big ambitions, we all know what we are playing for,” said midfielder Daniel Lukasik.
“We cannot afford to underestimate any rival. These theoretically weaker teams often get points in matches against favourites,” said right-back Grzegorz Wojtkowiak. Gornik Zabrze have improved a bit since coach Leszek Ojrzynski took charge over the team. They have lost only 1 game in last 6.
However, Gornik have also recorded just 1 win over that period. Players claim they are motivated to get all 3 points on Friday.
“Lechia have very strong squad, but if we play accordingly to our tactics then we can win. We want to start winning on regular basis and get in touch with the middle of the table. I hope we can show good football on Friday. It doesn't matter who scores, what only matters is to get 3 points,” said Mariusz Przybylski. Erik Grendel and Adam Dzwigala are ruled out with injuries.
In my opinion Lechia Gdansk are favourites and should win. Gornik have made a step forward under Ojrzynski, but in terms of quality they are still inferior to Lechia.
