Rennes-Paris Saint Germain Statistical Preview
Team News
Rennes
Giovanni Sio is unlikely to see his one-game ban extended by the disciplinary commission on Thursday evening, and should be able to lead the attack against PSG.
First-choice goalkeeper Benoit Costil is tipped to start after spending the last two months on the sidelines with a knee injury picked up with the French national team.
However, the welcome of the defending champions will come too soon for Paul-Georges Ntep and Mexer, who may both be unable to return to action before the international break.
Sylvain Armand will start against his former side in what should be Rennes' usual three-man backline in Mexer's absence.
Paris Saint Germain
Laurent Blanc will probably make a number of changes ahead of his side's trip to Madrid, which should benefit Benjamin Stambouli, Lucas Moura and possibly Ezequiel Lavezzi here.
Javier Pastore remains sidelined with a bout of conjunctivitis that already forced him to withdraw from the squad that welcomed Saint-Etienne last Sunday.
David Luiz is unlikely to feature as he still recovering from a knee injury and with Marquinhos also out, Serge Aurier will partner Thiago Silva at the back.
It remains to be seen whether Layvin Kurzawa will get the nod for the second successive match after his impressive performance against l'ASSE. Edinson Cavani, meanwhile, will be rested
